Watch Giveaways

Every now and then we review a new watch and then give it away to one of our readers!  Yes, this means you!

We want to share our love of timepieces and affordable horology with our readers, and by doing so we hope we introduce you to new watches that are affordable, unique, or otherwise interesting.

It’s easy!  Once the latest non-personal review has been posted all you have to do is leave a comment in the comments section of the review.  Anyone and everyone who leaves a meaningful comment (something more significant than “nice watch” or “good review”, etc.) will be entered.

  1. The first time I saw the “Watchesyoucanafford.com” posting on Facebook, I realized I was a closet Horologist. I have a few watches, (and yes, even a case to keep them in). I enjoy reading the insightful reviews, and of course the net result is, I have made purchases based on these reviews. Always looking forward to the next one. I have also shared your site with others. Keep it ticking, Cameron.

    • George, much appreciated bud! I first discovered I was a closet horologist (I’ve since come out of the closet) back in 2010. It’s funny how it works!

  2. Another good review!

I was surprised lately to find that Seiko had a following and, even more surprised that they made automatics.

Now that I have an automatic, I don’t wear my other two watches because it’s so cool. If you don’t yet own an automatic, you should!

  3. Sure is nice to see a site reviewing watches that aren’t ridiculously expensive. Every other site I read is all about the latest Hublot or Rolex and it’s pretty overwhelming. I actually own the exact same Hamilton Jazzmaster you reviewed and I love it. Looking forward to reading more reviews in the future and have bookmarked your site!

  4. Just started becoming a watch guy and this watch is pretty timeless and classic design.

Good review. Hopefully I can win so I can add another watch to my collection. I’m currently at 4. All affordable daily watches, nothing fancy.

  5. Thanks for the review, I’ve always been a fan of the Seiko brand. I would def change the strap on this watch if I was to grab it.

  6. Just found out about the site, in part from the contest on Beyond.

Have to say I am enjoying your site (and reviews) so far.
Genuinely find it easy, informative, and interesting to read.

    Keep it up!
    Cheers.

  7. I have been following this website for a month now. I really look forward to the new reviews. The close up pictures of the watches are great! I have already found a few watches that are on my “buy list” which I probably would not have known about if I didn’t see them here.
    Keep up the great work!

  8. Hey Cam-Face,
I like you reviews and the site, your camera closeups are impeccable! I find I’m allergic to a lot of metals. Always leery about buying “stainless,” because that sometimes gives me a reaction too! I guess it boils down to quality. I want a nice watch (doesn’t everybody…?) Perhaps there are alternatives for myself? If I would like something that’s not made of metal, yet still elegant. You have your mission, should you choose to accept it, I would definitely read it!
P.S. If I won the watch, it would make a lovely present to my dear boyfriend who needs to class up a bit:) lololol

    TACO!

    • I’d love to get my hands on some of those to review, but alas, this site is self-funded and those are a bit out of my range right now 🙁

  9. I’m starting to become a bit of a watch collector and like to read independent reviews, keep up the good work Cam

  10. As much as I love the Hublots, Panerais and Patek’s, its really nice to see quality watches the accentuate style without having to break the bank. My collection is growing and Im happy to see sites like this to promote awesome watches that fit in with modern style at good prices. Keep it up!

  11. Great review. Seiko has definitely got my attention in the last little while.
As a relative rookie to watches, looking to expand my collection, this website has been quite informative!

    Cheers.

    • Seiko is a great brand in terms of providing good value. Citizen is also a good choice for that. I have watches from both brands and have never run into any problems.

  12. Being only 14 I have only recently discovered a passion for watches and my collection is so far limited. Yet I enjoy discussing them and I love the classic exterior of this watch, it’s sleek yet has character and warmth to it
