Instead of my usual review, which I feel would be a rehash of my thoughts of the Gent, I thought we’d do something a bit different and snap a few lifestyle photos. My wife, Melissa, is a part-time model and full-time beauty and so it was her wrist I felt best to showcase this timepiece.
Justin Ng, owner of Gem by Carati and frequent WYCA benefactor, got in touch and asked if I was ready to check out another limited edition Hamilton. Who could say no to a line like that?
He sent me over the newish Intra-Matic 68, a limited-edition auto chrono powered by Hamilton’s H-31 automatic. Only 1968 of these were built, and of those, only 20 made their way to Canada. With that in mind, let’s check out this modern take on a vintage greatest hit.

The Nixon Sentry Leather, powered by what is likely a Miyota quartz movement, is a great looking watch that embraces its fashion status without making structural or mechanical compromises. It’s affordability and overall look make it a great daily wearer, though if you’re looking for something more mechanical, the Sentry isn’t for you. It’s a fashion watch, yes, but a pretty good one.
This Bulova is a little too big for my wrist so I thought I’d spend a bit more time showing off its detail & build using macro photography. It’s a great watch so long as you’ve got the wrists for it.

In the year and a half since I posted the review it’s been seen tens of thousands of times. Dozens of people have e-mailed me asking about it, with many sending me a note to describe their own love affair with the Weekender. A lot of people like the Weekender.
As of today WYCA has over 70 reviews on it, with all but two being penned by myself. With more experience in the world of watches, and with considerably more experience with watch photography, I decided to rebuy the SNK809 and reassess my review.
