The Hers to the His, & Just as Good

Words/Photography: Me / Model: Melissa Martel

A few weeks back I posted an in-depth review of the MQT Horlogère Suisse Four Gent, an inexpensive Swiss-made quartz and sapphire piece that I think is worth a look for the gentlemen seeking a good-looking dress watch. MQT also sent over the Ladies version of the Essential Four, and like the gentlemen’s version, it’s made well and with quality materials. MQT is an upcoming microbrand definitely worth looking at.

Instead of my usual review, which I feel would be a rehash of my thoughts of the Gent, I thought we’d do something a bit different and snap a few lifestyle photos. My wife, Melissa, is a part-time model and full-time beauty and so it was her wrist I felt best to showcase this timepiece.

Enjoy 🙂

Disclosure: MQT Horlogère Suisse provided this Essential Four Ladies at no-cost for the purposes of this shoot.

Perfectly Sized @ 34mm

A tasteful watch does not need to be extravagant or outlandish to be eye-catching, especially when paired with upscale dress and a beautiful pair of earrings.

The black and gold motif ensures that the hands and indices are always visible, with appropriate contrast from the dial. The three-sabre logo again looks great at the 6 o’clock position.

Melissa Loves the Essential, and I Must Say, She Makes it Stand Out

Ladies watches are often overstyled, stuffed with gemstones (or fake gemstones), “bling”, hearts, and other cheesy accents that take the feminine look to the extreme. MQT makes no such mistakes here, keeping the Essential Four Ladies as simple and elegant and the gent’s version.

Finally, a Ladies Watch Worth Wearing

MQT has earned their place as welcome additions to our recommended his & hers watch list because of the combination of price, quality, and looks. As shown here, this watch looks stunning. Paired with a simple floral shirt and gold earrings, the Essential Four Ladies simply pops off the wrist and enhances Melissa’s outfit.

The Essential Four is tastefully sized and made well. Like the gent’s version I reviewed in depth, the ladies Essential Four is appropriately aligned and there are no finishing errors or gaps in quality that I can identify.

MQT Horlogère Suisse is doing what all microbrand watch companies should be doing: building a great piece at a good price, with minimal compromise and no areas of questionable quality.

As Melissa shows here, this MQT is one worth wearing.
