Brought To You By Jean Bellecour
Jean Bellecour contacted me about shooting the Faubourg, a new collection of vintage-inspired ladies quartz watches. I’m not one to pass up on the opportunity to spend some time with my camera, so I accepted their offer.
I received the Faubourg on September 20th, where I then asked Melissa to wear it and put it through its paces.
A Simple, Elegant Quartz Timepiece
The Jean Bellecour Faubourg is an understated watch. It’s silver on silver finishings are done well, with both the brushed and polished surfaces styled so as to compliment each other. The steel version does look a little dressy, but there are other versions avaialble that downplay the class a little, including a slick black and steel version.
Inside the Faubourg is a plain-old Miyota 2035, which is a fine if not typical quartz movement. Expect 3-5 years of battery life and accuracy to within 20 seconds per month.
30m / 99ft water resistance
The Jean Bellecour Faubourg is fine to wear as a daily wristwatch and can be worn when washing hands, out in the rain, etc. However, the water resistance is not suitable for swimming or being submerged.
Black Leather Strap & Stainless Steel Clasp
The strap – a soft and comfortable black crocodile-grain leather – is paired with an engraved stainless-steel buckle. Both the strap and buckle are comfortable to wear for long periods.
The Faubourg’s 35mm Case Fits Most Women
Most women, as well as men with smaller wrists, will find the Faubourg to be a good fit on the wrist. As a companion, it’s easy to read (though it lacks lume, so it can’t be used at night). The mineral crystal is recessed slightly into the bezel, giving it some protection against every day bumps and bruises.
